Until a few years ago, for Priscila Fadul, Lendava was the name of her grandfather’s land in Slovenia, a large town almost on the border with Hungary. Today, for this engineer who was born in Argentina and is based in Miami, Lendava is the name of her skin care brand, which recently landed in Perfumerías Rouge. Fadul built her brand with contemporary values such as respect for the environment, but also with a lot of future due to the incorporation of biotechnological advances, and with ancestry, thanks to the beauty methods she learned at home.
L´OFFICIEL: Why did you name your brand like that?
PRISCILA FADUL: The name of the brand is linked to my personal history. It is the city where my grandfather was born, the person who determined my attachment to minimalism. He was a super-minimalist, he always believed that less is more and he lived with spectacular simplicity. His house was impeccable, with few objects, but beautiful. He reminds me of minimalism all the time, and that is how I try to live my life: less and better quality clothes, less and more functional furniture, fewer products but more conscious consumption.
L´O: Your life crosses the Miami-Buenos Aires routes, and also those of engineering with the world of skin care.
PF: My initial training is in engineering. However, I grew up in an environment influenced by the beauty industry, as my family has more than 50 years of experience in the sector, ranging from retail to the exclusive distribution of brands such as Clarins, Hermès and Dolce & Gabbana. This context allowed me to get to know the best products and the most renowned experts in the industry. The combination of my engineering background, which helps me seek efficiency in all aspects of life, and my experience in the world of beauty led me to found my brand. Miami and Buenos Aires have been key cities, providing me with a multicultural vision that enriches the project.
L´O: What is the need for the creation of Lendava?
PF: It was born from the intention of simplifying skin care in a world saturated with products and promises. In search of which ones really add value to health, I wanted to create a line that was simple and effective, using ingredients based on science. “Good morning ” , our day cream, for example, replaces several products since it acts as a serum, moisturizer, oil and eye cream. On the other hand, I wanted to offer a sustainable alternative that thinks about the environment. That is why Lendava products are formulated with biotechnological ingredients and have refillable containers.
L´O: What can you tell us about the brand’s next steps?
PF: I am very excited about the new creations like the “Travel Set”, which comes in a mini bag and includes the basics like day cream, night cream, body cream and a cleansing oil to make your skin routine effective and minimalistic, no matter where you are. In addition, we are incorporating a retinol serum for use at night that revitalizes the skin and promotes collagen production.
L´O: What do you feel is missing from the world of beauty and skin care?
PF: Transparency and real effectiveness. There is also a tendency to overload routines with unnecessary steps. On the other hand, I think that fashion and beauty brands should work more on being sustainable, encouraging less consumption in products and packaging. Consumers are increasingly informed and looking for products that are not only effective, but also environmentally responsible.
