Tom Brady opens up about raising his children with ex Gisele Bündchen, to whom he was married for 13 years
Is Tom Brady struggling to be a good father? After ending his 13-year marriage to supermodel Gisele Bündchen , the former New England Patriots quarterback has struggled to make his children a priority in his life.
On a recent visit to New York City , the star spoke with sportswriter Stephen A. Smith and revealed what has been taking up most of his time since retiring: «I have a lot of things that keep me busy, but I still try to be a great dad and be there for my kids,» the NFL legend shared, according to PageSix, noting, «Every father knows it’s a challenge to be a good father.
Tom had a son (Benjamin, 14) and a daughter (Vivian, 11) with Gisele. With his ex, Bridget Moynahan , he had another son (Jack, 16). The player and Bridget dated before he met the Brazilian model.
He added: «All the kids, I hope you appreciate your parents too! Because they try so hard to make your life a little easier.»
Tom recently returned from a trip to Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Asked if his children «ruled» his life, he said: «Absolutely, yes,» and joked: «Every time they call me, I know there’s a request, because when they don’t call me, I don’t hear from them,» adding: «And when I don’t hear from them, I know they don’t want anything.»
Laughing, he added that as his children «get older and start having adult responsibilities,» they begin to «appreciate» a father’s sacrifices more and more.
«When you work hard to be a dad and also provide for your family, it happens when you take time away and are really focused on work,» he added of his busy schedule.
