Water contains minerals, including calcium, which can negatively affect hair health. This mineral penetrates the keratin layer and breaks its bonds, causing stiffness, hardness and breakage. Externally, calcium accumulates in the scales of the hair fiber, causing porosity and lack of shine. Globally, 8 out of 10 women are concerned about the condition of their hair and 41 percent are looking for a solution focused on breakage. After 10 years of research, Kérastase presents its Premiere line capable of decalcifying and repairing hair.
After 12 patents, more than 600 tests, and extensive research, the firm’s global team of scientists identified the damage caused by calcium and discovered that the combination of citric acid, to remove calcium; glycine, to repair in the deeper layers; and peptides, to seal the surface, restores hair to its original state. The new line restores up to 99 percent of the hair’s original strength by reconnecting keratin bonds damaged by calcium. Due to its high concentration of pure acids, it offers deep and long-lasting repair.
The new offering includes a pre-shampoo, which is applied to wet hair and acts for 5 minutes to eliminate calcium and reconnect keratin bonds, improving the effectiveness of subsequent treatments. It also includes a shampoo with 8 percent pure acids and no sulfates, a gel-textured conditioner, a mask and a serum with peptides such as glycine.
