Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ beauty line was designed to help skin adapt to climate change in real time. While makeup looks to the Prada archive and its iconic materials, Saffiano leather and Re-Nylon.
For Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, contemporary beauty is first and foremost the possibility of self-reinvention , within the brand’s values of sophisticated minimalism, unconventional luxury, functionality and sustainability (the line is entirely refillable). Starting from an essential Skin range designed to help the skin adapt to environmental changes in real time , using precision technology originating from natural active ingredients, adaptogens, present in fifteen rare plants that have existed for over 400 million years, from skin-fusing textures and a distinctive scented note of vanilla, heliotrope and iris signed by Daniela Andrier , Mrs. Prada’s olfactory accomplice since the first Infusion.
Created in total synergy with fashion, starting from an archive of more than 27,000 fabrics and patterns , the Prada Color line is made of sophisticated matte lipsticks, a feature of the Prada catwalks since the first show in 1988, inspired in the finish by the brand’s distinctive materials, Saffiano leather and Re-Nylon, and by eyeshadow palettes that combine 3 neutral shades and one eccentric one.
The line was developed with the creative consultancy of London-based make-up artist Lynsey Alexander , who has a long-standing collaboration with MAC, Shiseido and Clé de Peau, and Parisian 3D artist Ines Alpha . An integral part of the launch are two beauty-tech services developed with L’Oréal , driven by (patented) software with in-depth visualizations to allow for in-depth decoding of the skin: Skin Decoder , for an advanced analysis of the skin, capable of revealing its current condition and potential for optimization, and Color Explorer , a virtual make-up try-on that includes the entire Prada Color catalog.
